From March 11 - March 17, 2019, the Hilton Head Island Wine and Food Festival will make its glorious return.
In its 34th year of celebration, the Wine and Food Festival is an incredible display of local chefs, food education sessions, entertainment, and, of course, public tastings.
If you’re planning a trip to Hilton Head during the festival, make sure to purchase tickets for at least a day of the activities. Wine and Food Festival events include:
1. Cooking Classes
On March 11 from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m., A Tribute to New Orleans Cooking Class will take place. Learn to fry beignets as good as the Cafe du Monde in New Orleans. You will also have the opportunity to make New Orleans BBQ shrimp and oyster and shrimp creole.
This class isn’t for those with shellfish allergies, but it’s otherwise for anyone who wants an engaging and delicious experience in Hilton Head.
2. Public Tastings
If you’re more about tasting the fair than learning to cook it yourself, the Hilton Head Island Wine & Food Festival offers public tastings throughout the week.
On March 26 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., the Public Tasting gives you access to more than 250 wines. You also have a chance to see a chef’s competition at the Sysco Outdoor Gourmet Challenge and to participate in a silent auction.
3. Grand Tasting
If you want access to the most exclusive event of the festival, the Grand Tasting is for you. This tasting features exclusive and award-winning wines, hors d’oeuvres, and live music. Hosted in the Harbour Town Clubhouse, you can sip amazing wines in a luxurious venue.
4. Stay Gold: a Lowcountry Wine, Food and Music Experience
The inaugural year of this event, Stay Gold promises to be an incredible affair. You can sample on award-winning wines while also filling up on classic Hilton Head lowcountry food, such as gumbo and seafood stews.
You can purchase tickets to some or all of the Hilton Head Wine & Food Festival events online, and we recommend doing this in advance to ensure your spot.
