More than Just the Beach - Fun Summer Exploration

When traveling to Hilton Head Island this summer, be sure to soak in that sea salt air and sand on your feet.  When needing to escape the sun or mix up a day from the beach, go check out these fun weekly events on the island.

The Farmers Market at the Shops at Sea Pines Center
Every Tuesday from 10 am to 2 pm you can shop the Farmer's Market at  at the Shops at Sea Pines Center.  Wonder through the market trying select vendors kettle popcorn, gourmet cheeses, homemade cookies & breads, crafts, artists, book signings, and pork sandwiches to name a few of the tasty treats.  With more than just vegetables, you will enjoy the quaint booths offering their local flare.  The location of Shops at Sea Pines Center is:  71 Lighthouse Road, Hilton Head SC, 29928.

Beach Yoga at Sea Pines Resort
Enjoy the serenity of the ocean as you relax and take in the benefits of yoga.  This yoga focus on strength, flexibility, and balance.  For just $15 take some time for yourself, breath and soak up those beautiful views.  Reservations required; contact (843) 842-1979 for times and schedule.  Located atThe Sea Pines Resort.

Explore Remarkable Plants on Hilton Head
At the Coastal Discovery Museum you can wonder off the beaten path with a curator on this exclusive tour and learn to identify some of the amazing plants on the property - from the largest trees to the tiniest flowers.  Discover how plants provide for us and other animals and learn how they communicate with each other.  The cost is $15 adults, $10 children and reservations are required by calling 843-689-6767 ext. 223 or going to www/coastaldiscovery.org/calendar of events.  The location is 70 Honey Horn Drive, Hilton Head Island SC, 29926.

Miles of Biking and Hiking 
Rent a bike and get lost pedaling around Hilton Head Island bike trails.  You won't quite get 'lost' but you will enjoy the freedom on a bike riding under the canopy of lush trees through forests with ocean views.  The Hilton Head Island bike path feels magical.  It is a great way to explore the true character of the island away from the cars and offers a quiet, relaxing exploration.
