1. You can walk your dog on the beach!

Winter is the most pet-friendly time to visit Hilton Head. During the summer, pets are not allowed on Hilton Head's beaches between 10AM and 5PM, but in the winter, all of your furry friends are welcome to explore the beach with you at any point in the day!

2. You can see elusive wildlife in the winter!

Hilton Head's wildlife becomes more active in the winter, meaning that you'll have a better chance of seeing animals like white tailed deer and great horned owls during a winter visit. If you like fishing, then you have an additional reason to visit. Winter is peak season for Redfish, trout, and flounder.

3. You can watch stunning sunsets!

Sunsets and sunrises are more colorful and vibrant in the winter. For the best sunrise views, head to the east side of the island. For the best sunset views, you'll want to head west. We recommend snapping sunset pics along the waterfront in Harbour Town

4. You can enjoy copious amounts of delicious seafood!

Low-season is the best time to enjoy seafood in Hilton Head. In particular, it is prime time for oysters! You can eat your fill of fresh seafood at the Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival (February 20-26, 2023) or one of the many yummy local restaurant. You can find fantastic fish all over the island!
